I have a 75 pound pitbull and he is ready for a new crate I would put him in one when i was gone but i wouldnt have a house when i came back! so my question is whether i should get a Giant Petmate Portable Kennel which is alot of money or get a wire crate? I wwould just be worried if i bought the wire that he would bend it but please if you have used the wire cages how did you like them!

I use airline, wire, and even mesh crates. So long as the dog is crate trained, it doesn't much matter which one. However, I think most outgoing dogs are going to be more comfortable in the wire crate because they can see out more and the ventilation is better. More reserved dogs may prefer the airline crates which are darker and cozier.

You can foil an escape artist who opens doors by using a carabiner as a backup latch. However, not much will stop a dog who eats crates except training.

We're going on an 8 hour car trip in June and we want to let the cats roam free in the back of the Rodeo. When we put the seats down it blocks them from going under the seats and I was going to sit back there with them so they can't jump in the front or anything. I'd keep them away from the driver in every way possible. I'm just wondering if anyone has ever tried this or how people travel with your cats?
Sure did, my girl rode from Florida to Arizona and back to Florida again. She loved it. It was an exciting adventure for her. She was only in her carrier at the gas/food stops. She roamed the car from window to window. She didn't attempt to get under the seats, or in the pedal, or on the driver's lap. She loved watching all the other cars and trucks go by. In the towns, she was excited at watching all the people walking on the sidewalk and parking lots. After seeing how much enjoyment she got out of this trip, we now take her on short trips about once a month. And, once in a while, we'll stop by the Dairy Queen for a special treat.

Why do my dogs (St. BErnard, Lab, & Blue Healer) sleep outside when it is cold? I bought them a big 15x12 out building to sleep in when it gets cold, and we put straw in there along with each dog (3) a bed. They also have straw outside that they love, and they will not sleep inside unless it is raining. Is this normal for dogs?
I also bought a nice house for my dog, and he never uses it. I think he was too hot in the summer, and he is just starting to feel a nice cool temperature now, although for us it is cold. dogs are not stupid. If they go in there when it is raining, they will use their house when they are cold. Unless you see them trembling or showing some discomfort, they are fine outside, as long as they have a warm place to get into if the get cold.

We have her setup with her crate surrounded by a big exercise playpen so she cant wander too far with food and water and wee wee pads. She has peed twice inside on the floor in her pen and twice outside when we take her. Do you think that moving her whole setup over by the patio door with the wee wee pads right by the patio door would help her learn to go outside? And just take her outside whenever we see her sniffing around like she has to go?

so my question is whether i should get a Giant Petmate Portable Kennel which is alot of money or get a wire crate? I wwould just be worried if i bought the wire that he would bend it but please if you have used the wire cages how did you like them!
